The commutator is composed of a conductive portion, an insulating portion, and a fastening support portion. According to the different types of structures, it can be divided into arch reversing device, plastic commutator, ring-type commutator and segmented commutator.
Manufacturing of commutator segments
The commutator segments are made of trapezoidal copper strips through blanking, deburring, leveling, milling, cleaning and tinning.
Generally, the commutator is cold-drawn into a trapezoidal copper strip as a raw material according to the requirements of the commutator, and then formed into a required size by punching, shearing, milling, and the like.
